Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has expressed grave concerns about Bola Tinubu’s potential presidency, predicting a dire fate for Nigeria under his leadership.
In an interview with Daily Trust, Lamido criticized Tinubu’s intention to follow in the footsteps of President Muhammadu Buhari, foreseeing a path that would lead the country to ruin. He highlighted the current administration’s challenges in security, poverty, and hunger, suggesting that if Tinubu intends to continue from where Buhari left off, Nigeria’s fate would be sealed towards further decline.
Lamido questioned Tinubu’s plan to continue Buhari’s policies, encompassing the economy, security, corruption, and human rights, indicating that such continuity might perpetuate existing issues rather than addressing them.
He drew attention to his warning before the 2015 elections, stating his belief that Nigeria would suffer under Buhari’s leadership due to what he perceived as lacking political acumen, vision, commitment, and the ability to address critical issues.
Lamido concluded by asserting that Tinubu’s pledge to follow Buhari’s path implies a journey leading the nation towards a grim destination of poverty, hunger, insecurity, hatred, despair, frustration, pain, and ultimately, a grave outcome.
