An man named Olumide Monday, aged 44, has been remanded in a correctional facility by the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, over accusations of murder.Monday, whose residential address was not disclosed, stands accused of the murder of Usman Bala, aged 35.Magistrate Mr. Olaolu Olanipekun refrained from taking the defendant’s plea due to jurisdictional constraints. He instructed the police to submit the case file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal guidance.The case has been adjourned until March 27 for further proceedings.According to Prosecutor Mr. Philip Amusan, the alleged offence took place on February 1, at 11:00 a.m. in the Iwo road area of Ibadan.Amusan stated that Monday is accused of unlawfully causing the death of Bala by stabbing him in the buttocks, which is in violation of Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
