In breaking news, Dogo Gide, a notorious bandit leader operating in Nigeria’s North West region, has been confirmed dead. The announcement came from former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad via his official communication platform on Wednesday.
Ahmad stated that Gide succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained during a clash with Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) troops of the Nigerian Army. Gide, known as one of Nigeria’s most wanted bandits, has been implicated in numerous kidnappings, killings, and the displacement of countless innocent villagers in the North.
Drivetvnews Reports indicate that Gide’s operational base shifted across states in the North West, notably Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Katsina. In a significant operation on October 30, 2023, Nigerian troops engaged Gide’s forces in Zamfara State. Despite his narrow escape from capture, the troops raided Gide’s stronghold in Yau Sarkin Pawa, uncovering various incriminating items including a tailoring factory producing military uniforms, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), a suspected medical facility for treating injured militants, and several motorcycles and sewing machines used for operational purposes.
