Edo State Police have arrested a 26-year-old traditional healer, Chukwuyem Jonah, along with two others, in connection with the tragic death of Miss Faith Omodon, a 200-level student at Delta State University. The State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, revealed this during a press briefing in Benin City, where the suspects were paraded along with 11 others.
According to reports, Faith Omodon went missing after venturing to a farm in Ewohon/Uwemen community in Edo State. Concerns grew when she failed to return, prompting her family to report her disappearance. Investigations led to the arrest of two suspects, Godspower Chukwuedo and Christopher Nwachukwu, who confessed to being hired by Chukwuyem Jonah to abduct Faith for ransom.
The suspects admitted to strangling Faith to death when she resisted. Following their statements, the police apprehended Chukwuyem Jonah in Iru community. However, Jonah denies any involvement in the crime. Faith’s father, Edward Omodon, called for justice and urged the authorities to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
