The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a woman, identified only as Deborah, for allegedly stabbing two women, Adebayo Omokehinde and Kolapo Aishat, during an altercation in the Aiyetoro area of the state.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the suspect fled the scene after the attack but was later apprehended.
The incident occurred on January 30, 2025, when Deborah reportedly assaulted the victims using a broken bottle, inflicting serious injuries before escaping.
Odutola stated that after her arrest on February 12, 2025, the suspect admitted to the crime during interrogation.
“Deborah allegedly stabbed the victims multiple times on their breasts, hands, eyes, and other parts of their bodies in a brutal attack that left them in critical condition. She then fled and managed to evade arrest for nearly two weeks,” Odutola explained.
She added that the suspect was finally caught by officers and confessed to the assault.
“Medical reports were issued to the victims, directing them to a general hospital for urgent treatment. Once the investigation is concluded, the suspect will be charged in court,” Odutola stated.
In a separate incident reported in January, a 22-year-old woman, Iyanu Adedeji, allegedly stabbed her husband, Funsho Jimoh, to death in the Gbonogun area of Abeokuta. Following the incident, Adedeji turned herself in at a local police station.
