A somber incident occurred at King’s College, Lagos, on Saturday evening, following the discovery of a teacher’s lifeless body under unclear circumstances within a classroom on the school grounds.
The deceased, identified as 48-year-old Mr. Ezekiel Akano, was found after school hours, with staff members reportedly making the discovery around 7:40 p.m.
Vice Principal of the school, Mr. Oguniyi Ayodele, promptly informed the Lagos State Police Command about the situation.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared news of the incident on Sunday through his X (formerly Twitter) account, attributing the information to police sources. According to the report, Vice Principal Ayodele said he received a call about the discovery of Mr. Akano’s body on the premises, located at No. 3 Catholic Mission Street, Lagos Island.
In response, a team of detectives was dispatched to the scene. The area was secured for investigation, and photographs were taken. An initial assessment found no visible injuries or signs of foul play on the body.
Mr. Akano, who hailed from Oyo State, was transported to Lagos Island Hospital in Odan, where a medical professional confirmed he was dead upon arrival.
His body was transferred to the hospital’s morgue for preservation, pending an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.
Authorities have since launched a thorough investigation and assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to uncover the events leading to the tragic incident.
