Kanayo O. Kanayo praises Nollywood pioneers, recounts the industry’s struggles and sacrifices, while Mo Bimpe confronts online criticism over personal life.
Veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has applauded the trailblazers of Nollywood, acknowledging their sacrifices in building the Nigerian film industry.
In a post on Instagram on Monday, September 1, 2025, the celebrated actor revealed that Nollywood was established through immense dedication, describing it as a journey of “tears, sweat, and blood.”
He humorously compared the working conditions in Nollywood to Hollywood, stating that if American actor Denzel Washington endured the same grueling hours, “his skin would turn charcoal overnight.”
Kanayo noted that despite the challenging working environment, many pioneers of the industry remain in good health, a testament to their passion and resilience. He further recalled the early days of filmmaking when lighting equipment like “2K” lamps was used, highlighting the limitations of resources at the time.
Meanwhile, actress Mo Bimpe recently addressed a social media troll who criticized her for not having children while she promoted her new film My Miracle. The actress premiered the movie on her YouTube channel, MobimpeTV, on Sunday, but a user left hurtful comments questioning her womanhood and making insensitive remarks about her childbearing status.
