An Ondo man, Oyewole Adamolekun, has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing his daughter, beginning when she was just three years old, and continuing until she became pregnant at 15. The case was brought to attention on October 8, 2025, when a concerned community member, Mr. Julius Olusola, filed a complaint at the Enu-Owa Divisional Police Headquarters in Ondo town.
According to a statement from the police spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, the suspect was apprehended at his home in Taye Village, Lafa 2, within the Ajue area. The victim was immediately taken to a medical facility, where an ultrasound revealed she was 19 weeks and two days pregnant. During questioning, Adamolekun confessed to the crime.
The case has now been transferred to the police’s gender desk for a thorough investigation and expedited legal action. Ondo State Police Commissioner, Adebowale Lawal, condemned the crime, emphasizing the state’s strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of sexual abuse, especially involving minors. He assured the public that the case would be handled with urgency, professionalism, and accuracy.
Lawal also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior or abuse to the nearest police station. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to protecting the rights, dignity, and safety of all residents of the state.
