The Ondo State Police Command has begun investigating the death of an unidentified woman discovered in a hotel room in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area.
The woman was found lifeless on Wednesday inside a hotel situated along the Ore–Okitipupa Road. The male guest who lodged with her reportedly escaped before the body was discovered.
A hotel employee who spoke on condition of anonymity said both guests arrived together earlier in the day.
“They checked in together, but when a staff member later entered the room, the woman was found dead, and the man was nowhere around. That was when the hotel informed the police,” the source said.
The worker further noted that the body showed no visible injuries or signs of a struggle.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, said efforts are underway to locate the man who fled the hotel.
“The incident happened, and investigation has started. Our officers are working to apprehend the suspect,” he said.
The deceased has been taken to a morgue in the community as investigations continue.
