Popular Fuji musician Saheed Osupa has generated mixed reactions after openly acknowledging his involvement in traditional spiritual practices, often referred to as “juju,” as part of his journey to success.
The artist, whose real name is Saheed Okunola, made the statement during a live performance at the 52nd birthday celebration of veteran Yoruba actor Fatai Odua on March 30, 2026.
In a video from the event that surfaced online, Osupa was seen speaking to his backup singers after they struggled to match his performance on stage. He advised them, in a mix of humor and seriousness, to consider spiritual support to improve their delivery and memory.
He also revealed that he has been encouraged in the past to publicly deny any connection to such practices but chose not to do so.
According to him, his intentions are not harmful, as he only seeks personal progress. He added that paying homage to Ifa forms part of his regular spiritual routine.
In a lighthearted remark, the singer questioned what alternative he should rely on for success, jokingly dismissing conventional means.
Osupa further claimed that many individuals engage in similar practices privately, but he prefers to be open about his beliefs.
Over the years, the Fuji star has occasionally hinted at seeking traditional support, but his recent comments mark one of his most direct and public confirmations of this aspect of his life.
