In Akure, Ondo State, a harrowing incident unfolded as James Emmanuel, a 35-year-old laborer, confessed to raping and killing his co-worker, Deborah, after consuming four bottles of beer and six cigarettes.Emmanuel revealed that the idea to assault Deborah occurred to him following the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes. Subsequently, he confessed to ending her life out of fear of potential exposure, then disposing of her body in a waste pit on the farm premises.Funmi Odunlami, spokesperson for the state police command, disclosed that Deborah’s lifeless body was found in her farm, where she had fallen victim to rape and murder.Following police investigations, James Emmanuel was apprehended and admitted to the crime during interrogation. He confessed to raping Deborah after indulging in alcohol and cigarettes, ultimately resorting to murder to conceal his actions.
