Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has voiced concerns about being targeted by paid social media users intent on damaging her reputation and career. Speaking during a live Instagram session reported by Drivetvnews, she addressed accusations surrounding the alleged arrest of an individual’s mother over cyberbullying. Toyin vehemently denied any wrongdoing deserving of such treatment, emphasizing that she has been unfairly attacked online, particularly due to her support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections. She expressed readiness to confront her detractors, stating her determination to hold those responsible for slander and bullying to account.
Meanwhile, Nigerian comedian and actor Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, also weighed in on the controversy. According to Drivetvnews, he addressed claims that Toyin Abraham had used law enforcement against the mother of an online user. Macaroni clarified on his social media platform that he himself has been a victim of online harassment by supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but he has never resorted to illegal means like involving the police in personal disputes. He emphasized the importance of seeking legal recourse rather than using connections in government to unlawfully detain individuals, cautioning about potential consequences when such powers change hands in the future.
