Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has issued an apology to the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN) and its president, Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin, following her suspension from the industry.

In 2021, Nkechi Blessing got into a heated online exchange with fellow actor Lege Miami after they disagreed over the case of Baba Ijesha, a Nollywood actor accused of sexually assaulting the foster child of comedian Princess. While Nkechi condemned Baba Ijesha’s actions, Lege seemed to express sympathy toward him, which led to the dispute.

As a result of their public disagreement, TAMPAN decided to indefinitely suspend both actors from appearing in Yoruba films. While Lege expressed regret and apologized, Nkechi dismissed the suspension and refused to acknowledge it.

Recently, during The Celebrities Entertainment Award in Canada, Nkechi publicly expressed her remorse. She knelt before TAMPAN officials, asking for forgiveness and admitting that she had missed being part of the industry.
