The increase in cooking gas prices in Nigeria has had a significant impact on consumers, particularly students who heavily rely on it for their daily cooking needs. This price hike has resulted in financial hardships for many, affecting their standard of living.
There is a widespread call for the government and other stakeholders to take immediate action to address this issues and alleviate the burden on citizens.

The price hike on gas refilling has affects alot of Consumers in their daily activities. The importance of cooking gas can not be over-emphasize, there are old ways of cooking before the utilization of cooking gas; people make used of firewood, charcoal, sawdust to cook and kerosene to powered stoves even till date. This cooking gas utilization has made it easier and faster in preparation of meal, its usage does not stain or dirty cooking utensils. 80% of Nigeria Students make use of cooking gas in their various hostels and homes, the cooking gas has eliminated the wastage of time in cooking. before the hike in cooking gas refilling price, the Students dare not to try to prepare beans with their cooking gas for long days despite the price then per kg which was around the range of N250-N300 naira. However, The current price cooking gas refill has now increased to N900- N1000 naira per kg. Meanwhile, the abnormal increase on cooking gas, price of products and commodities has generally affect the Students and general public at large. majority of Students, Nigerians are facing alot of hardships and difficulties at their individual places. some are seriously starving, struggling to survive because they don’t have much to spend or much to eat.

*DriveTv News* urge and call on Federal Government of Nigeria, stakeholders, private individuals and non governmental organization to take immediate action in lower the abnormal price hike on goods and services, (products and commodities) so as to ease the pains and challenges facing the Citizens and to contribute effectively to the growth and development of this nation.
