Joshua Bamiloye, a renowned gospel singer and son of the esteemed founder of Mount Zion Drama Ministry, Mike Bamiloye, has issued a poignant warning to fellow Christians regarding the dangers of becoming addicted to entertainment that rivals their devotion to God.

In a heartfelt message, Bamiloye drew attention to the detrimental impact of various forms of entertainment that may inadvertently compete with our spiritual growth. He singled out football enthusiasts and movie enthusiasts, placing them in the same category as viewers of the Big Brother Naija reality show. He expressed concerns over the immoral scenes prevalent in such shows and questioned their productivity.

With an emphasis on self-reflection, Bamiloye encouraged football lovers to refrain from criticizing BBNaija viewers if they, too, have allowed their passion for football to interfere with their spiritual commitments. Skipping fellowship over a heated match or checking live scores during a church service, he noted, demonstrates that a similar struggle for balance exists among sports enthusiasts.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Bamiloye stated, “The fact remains that whatever competes with God in your heart is on the same boat.” He candidly acknowledged that a significant portion of today’s entertainment content contains immoral elements, which further underscores the need for caution.

Urging Christians to place God as their top priority, Bamiloye stressed that doing so would influence how wisely they handle various forms of entertainment. By keeping God at the forefront, he believed that individuals would gain the discernment and wisdom necessary to navigate the vast array of content available today.

In essence, Joshua Bamiloye’s message serves as a powerful reminder for Christians to be mindful of their entertainment choices and to safeguard their spiritual well-being by placing God above all else in their hearts and lives. By doing so, he expressed his belief that Christians can embrace entertainment in a way that complements their faith journey and reflects a commitment to living a spiritually enriching life.
