Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially endorsed the appointment of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as the forthcoming Soun of Ogbomosoland. The announcement was made in a statement issued by Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, on a recent Saturday. This appointment has been made following a meticulous adherence to the legal procedures and protocols outlined in the law.
In his statement, Governor Makinde extended his warm congratulations to the newly appointed Soun-elect, acknowledging the significance of his ascension to the revered throne of his ancestors. The Governor expressed optimism that this appointment would empower the monarch-elect to foster unity, understanding, and tolerance within his community.
The Commissioner also urged all residents of the ancient city of Ogbomoso, regardless of their background, to collaborate closely with the newly appointed monarch.
