President Bola Tinubu Heads to G20 Compact with Africa Conference in Berlin, Germany
President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Berlin, Germany, to attend the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Conference, scheduled for November 20, 2023. The conference, hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, will run concurrently with the Fourth G20 Investment Summit, co-hosted by the German government and German business associations.
Tinubu, along with other Heads of State and Governments of CwA member countries, bilateral partners, and leaders of International Organizations, will engage in discussions focused on bolstering economic and business cooperation. The aim is to devise tangible strategies to increase investments in vital sectors like energy, trade, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
Recognizing President Tinubu’s extensive efforts in promoting foreign direct investment in Nigeria, his participation in the investment summit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to fostering economic ties on a global scale.
This visit reaffirms the President’s commitment to reciprocal diplomacy, reciprocating the German Chancellor’s visit to Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria, from October 29 to October 30, 2023.
Accompanying President Tinubu are notable figures including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite; and Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu. The Nigerian delegation aims to build on earlier productive engagements with key representatives from German business organizations during the German Chancellor’s official visit to Nigeria.
