Alhaji Abdul-Samad Rabiu, the chairman of BUA Group, stated the company’s commitment to selling cement at N3,500 per bag starting in January 2024.During a conversation with State House Correspondents after meeting President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Thursday, December 28, Rabiu assured consumers that BUA would ensure reasonable pricing and availability of the product. He explained, “The set price will be N3,500 per bag, considering the ex-factory price plus VAT, and the cost for delivery based on the region. Our factories are located in Edo and Sokoto states. Depending on the distance and location, prices may vary, but we intend to honor our promise.”Rabiu also highlighted the upcoming opening of the Sokoto factory in January 2024, expected to significantly augment the market nationwide, projecting an annual combined volume of six million tonnes. Despite facing some challenges, he expressed confidence in addressing and resolving them.Additionally, Rabiu conveyed his contentment with President Tinubu’s holiday celebrations, stating, “It’s always a pleasure to see them relaxed. His Excellency looked rested and in high spirits, making my visit enjoyable.”
