Commissioner of Police Confirms Arrest of Over 300 Suspected Criminals in FCT

In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh has confirmed the apprehension of more than 307 suspected criminals.According to a statement issued on Monday by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, CP Igweh personally led a tactical team of the Command in an operation that resulted in the arrest of these suspects. The operation targeted the notorious area of Gidan Dambe in the Dei-Dei -Zuba axis.During the raid, one suspect, Ibrahim Tukur, who claimed to be an officer of the Department of State Service (DSS), was found in possession of an English Pistol and fifteen rounds of 9mm ammunition.Additionally, various exhibits such as motorcycles, packages of marijuana, illicit substances, and items suspected to have been stolen from residents were recovered.CP Benneth Igweh psc, mni, also informed the public about Operation Velvet, launched on 10/02/2024, involving all tactical teams of the Command aimed at curbing vehicular criminality and other offenses in the Territory.
