Bandits Attack Zurmi Town, Kill DCO and sets police headquarters ablaze

Gunmen, believed to be bandits, launched an assault on Zurmi town in Zamfara State, resulting in the death of a Divisional Crime Officer (DCO). Ibrahim Abubakar, a resident, revealed that the attackers targeted the Divisional Police Headquarters, setting it ablaze. “The Divisional Police Headquarters is now engulfed in flames, forcing many community members to flee for safety,” Abubakar reported. He added, “The gunmen claim this attack is in retaliation for the killing of three of their members by a local vigilante group.” Abubakar further stated, “We can witness their arrival in large numbers on motorcycles as we seek refuge in the bushes.” As of now, the State Police command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
