Multiple accidents in Ogun State on Monday resulted in six fatalities and injuries to 20 individuals, with 26 others fortunately escaping unharmed. According to Florence Okpe, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, the first incident occurred at Fidiwo along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around 3:40 am. It involved a Toyota bus and a Golf car, resulting in two deaths and two injuries due to wrongful overtaking and excessive speed.
A subsequent crash at approximately 5:18 am on the Ijebu-ode-Ore-Benin Expressway after Ajede Junction involved a Toyota bus, leaving three dead and 17 injured out of 20 passengers. Speed and fatigue were cited as the primary causes.
Another accident took place around 2:00 am along the same expressway after the Ajebamidele Bridge, where a luxury bus collided with a parked IVECO truck. One person died and two were injured out of 29 passengers, while the rest escaped unharmed due to road obstruction. Victims were taken to nearby medical facilities, and the deceased were deposited at morgues.
