The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu l, offered his moral support to the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege lll, affirming that any opposition against him is waging war against God.
During his visit to the Soun’s palace at Oja’gbo, following his attendance at the burial ceremony of Chief Sunday Dare’s mother, the former sports minister, Oba Akanbi asserted, “Opposing the Soun of Ogbomosoland is tantamount to opposing God, as every Oba represents divine authority.”
Adding weight to his statement, Oba Akanbi stressed, “Every royal palace embodies authority, and those opposing the divine order will face consequences from a higher power.”
Encouraging the Soun, Oba Akanbi reassured, “Let your adversaries persist, but remember, God surpasses them all. Those who challenged me in Iwo faced divine repercussions.”
In a gesture of admiration for Oba Ghandi’s achievements, he praised, “I’ve witnessed the transformative progress under your reign. Oba Ghandi has elevated the Ogbomoso Palace comparable to Buckingham Palace. Your impactful deeds resonate widely.”
Concluding with reverence, Oba Akanbi emphasized, “The esteemed position of Soun in Yorubaland holds immense significance and cannot be underestimated.”
