The Osun State Police Command has confirmed a tragic traffic collision in Osogbo on Saturday morning, resulting in the loss of two lives. According to Yemisi Opalola, the command’s spokesperson, the deceased were the unidentified rider of a motorcycle and their passenger.

The incident, which occurred around 06:25 am on April 27, 2024, took place opposite Mobil filling station in the Ogo-Oluwa area of Osogbo. It involved a Toyota RAV4 with registration number KUJ417DH, driven by Dauda Tewogbade, and a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number SGB708UH. The identity of the motorcyclist remains unknown.

Drivetvnews Reports indicate that the accident transpired as the RAV4 driver was traveling from the Olaiya area towards Abere Road. Upon reaching a spot opposite the Mobil filling station, the vehicle collided with the motorcyclist, who was riding against traffic. Tragically, both the rider and the passenger of the motorcycle succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The driver of the RAV4 and their companion sustained injuries and were promptly transported to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital in Osogbo for medical attention. Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased were taken to the hospital’s morgue for autopsy purposes.
