Nwachukwu Placidus who was a Former manager of a bank branch in Onitsha, took a huge amount of money from one of the bank’s customers. It wasn’t just a small amount; it was over N112 million! That’s a lot of money, enough to help many people.

But instead of using it for the customer, Placidus decided to keep it for himself. He thought he wouldn’t get caught, but he did. The authorities found out what he did, and he had to go to court. In court, they accused him of doing many bad things, like lying and stealing. Placidus said he didn’t do anything wrong, but the evidence showed otherwise.

After looking at all the evidence, the judge decided that Placidus was guilty. The judge said that what he did was very serious and that he needed to be punished. So, Placidus was sent to jail for a really long time – 121 years in total! That’s a very long time to be in prison.

But that’s not all. The judge also said that Placidus had to give back all the money he took. It was only fair that the bank got its money back. So now, Placidus has to pay back all that money, even though he won’t be able to use it for himself anymore.

This story teaches us an important lesson. It shows us that it’s not okay to take things that don’t belong to us, especially when it comes to money. People trust banks to keep their money safe, and it’s not right for someone to betray that trust. Placidus thought he could get away with it, but in the end, he had to face the consequences of his actions.
