The Ondo State Police Command has arrested Yusuf Adenoyin for possession of eight human skulls in Isua, the headquarters of Akoko South-East Local Government. According to Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state Police Public Relations Officer, police personnel from the Police Safer Highway Patrol stationed at the Isua/Epinmi checkpoint made the arrest during their routine duties.
Odunlami disclosed, “On June 10, 2024, at about 0800hrs, personnel attached to the Police Safer Highway Patrol at Isua/Epinmi checkpoint while performing their lawful duty flagged down a Nissan Salon car en route Akure. While the vehicle was being searched, one of the passengers took to his heels and the police pursued and arrested him.”
She continued, “Upon searching his belongings, eight dry human skulls, fresh human flesh, and charms were found in a wrapped polythene bag concealed within a garri sack he was traveling with.”
Yusuf Adenoyin, aged 31, reportedly confessed that he was transporting the items to herbalists and admitted to having delivered seven human skulls before his capture.
Odunlami also mentioned that investigations are ongoing to capture other individuals involved in the crime.
