The Seyi Makinde-led government of Oyo State has initiated the recruitment of Primary School Teachers across all local government areas in the state. According to a press release obtained by Drivetvnews, the government officially launched the job portal for public primary school teachers on June 25, 2024.

Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), confirmed this development during a press briefing at the Board’s headquarters in Ibadan. He highlighted that this initiative is part of Governor Makinde’s efforts to combat unemployment among residents.

Applicants are required to register on the portal using their email, phone number, and National Identification Number (NIN), among other details, for potential roles as teachers or caregivers. The recruitment aims to fill 7,000 teaching positions and 100 caregiver roles, with the application period running from June 25 to July 9, 2024.

Dr. Adeniran emphasized Governor Makinde’s commitment to expanding job opportunities in the basic education sector, particularly for caregivers, stating, “Education is a cornerstone of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration. We are dedicated to an inclusive government that harnesses the State’s potential, which is why we are hiring new primary school teachers.”

He assured applicants of support through provided contact details for any issues encountered during the application process. Stressing transparency and fairness, Dr. Adeniran underscored that the recruitment process will include online applications, computer-based tests (CBT), and oral interviews.

Dr. Adeniran cautioned applicants to beware of fraudulent activities, reiterating that the official job application portal is subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng. He emphasized that the entire application process is free of charge and warned against any unauthorized attempts to solicit money from applicants.

Lastly, Dr. Adeniran expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering support, pledging the Board’s commitment to upholding integrity throughout the recruitment process.
