Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has reportedly been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon around the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
According to a police source, the entertainer was filming a skit beneath a bridge in the area when he suffered the injury. Details surrounding how the shooting happened are still unclear.
Crew members who were present at the scene reportedly rushed him to Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko, where he received immediate medical attention.
Medical staff at the hospital reportedly provided first aid before he was transferred to Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja for further treatment.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, said the hospital alerted the police after receiving a gunshot victim.
She explained that officers and detectives were immediately sent to the hospital, where they discovered the injured person was the well-known skit maker.
According to her, the comedian was found on a stretcher with a gunshot wound on his thigh.
Adebisi also clarified that the shooting reportedly occurred in Sango-Ota, which is outside the jurisdiction of the Lagos police command, but investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, stated that the incident had not yet been officially reported to the police in the state.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
