Nollywood actress Omeche Oko has been hospitalised after sustaining injuries in a serious motorcycle accident while filming a movie just days before her birthday.
The actress shared a video of the incident on her Instagram page, revealing how the accident occurred during a scene shoot on a movie set in Lagos.
According to reports, Oko was riding on a motorcycle with fellow actor Victory Michael when the bike crashed into a pole. The impact left both actors injured, with Victory Michael reportedly losing consciousness briefly after hitting his chest against the pole.
Oko suffered a fractured leg and was immediately rushed to a medical facility alongside her colleague for treatment by crew members and fellow cast members.
Reflecting on the incident, the actress described the experience as a close brush with death and expressed gratitude for surviving the accident.
“Life is very fragile. It could have ended differently, but God spared me. If you see an actor today, give them a hug. We take many risks for our craft. I’m simply thankful to God,” she wrote.
Following the incident, several Nollywood stars and film producers flooded her comment section with messages of support and prayers for a speedy recovery.
Among those who sent their well wishes were actors Mofe Duncan, Chinenye Nnebe, Chizzy Alichi, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, Nosa Rex, Chidi Dike, Toniala Aladese, Doris Ifeka, Onyi Alex, as well as producers Uche Nancy and Toyosi Etim Effiong.
