The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced on Friday that it has released the results of candidates who participated in the supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This additional exam took place from Friday, June 21, to Saturday, June 22, 2024.
In a statement released by JAMB spokesman Fabian Benjamin, it was revealed that the supplementary exam was conducted for 28,835 candidates. These individuals were unable to complete their biometric verification during the main 2024 UTME, which prevented them from taking the exam on schedule. Additionally, another group of candidates suspected of involvement in exam malpractice during the main UTME were granted a second opportunity to sit for the exam.
The board emphasized that the supplementary UTME was conducted successfully across the country, thanks to enhanced security measures implemented to prevent any form of exam misconduct. Several individuals attempting to impersonate genuine candidates were apprehended and handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and legal action.
JAMB reiterated its commitment to using advanced technology to maintain the integrity of its examinations before, during, and after each session. Candidates were strongly advised to refrain from any irregularities during their exams, including seeking score upgrades from unauthorized sources or manipulating their result sheets to show inflated scores.
To access their supplementary UTME results, candidates were instructed to send UTMERESULT to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number they used to generate their profile codes during registration.
