In the lead-up to the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, emphasized the responsibility of politicians to utilize public funds for the betterment of citizens’ lives rather than personal gain. Addressing a gathering at the Grimard School of Nursing and Midwifery in Ayingba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State on Monday, Obi reiterated that government resources are not private assets but belong to the people. He stressed the importance of investing these funds to elevate the standard of living for all.

Highlighting his commitment to education, which was recognized by Catholic Bishop Anthony Adaji of Idah Diocese, Obi’s tenure as governor of Anambra State was praised for its significant contributions to educational development. Adaji commended Obi’s strategic investments in education, noting the positive impact on student performance across the state during his administration.

During his visit to Ankpa and Olamaboro local government areas, Obi further demonstrated his commitment to community welfare by commissioning two boreholes aimed at improving access to clean water for local residents.
