Popular Yoruba Nollywood actor Damola Olatunji recently opened up about the end of his marriage, revealing that his ex-fiancée was impregnated by another man just weeks before their planned introduction. In an interview with fellow actor Biola Adebayo on Talk To B’s show, Olatunji shared the personal lessons he has learned from his relationship experiences.
He reflected, “Life has taught me many things about relationships, and I’ve learned a lot. I was in a relationship where my fiancée got pregnant by someone else just weeks before our introduction. I chose to stay silent about the situation. I have had various experiences in different aspects of life.”
Olatunji also addressed the speculations surrounding his separation from Bukola Arugba, the mother of his twins. He denied rumors that he abandoned his marriage and home, emphasizing that it is preferable for couples to part ways amicably rather than resort to violence or public drama.
He stated, “This is the first time I am speaking about my divorce. There were claims that I left my marriage and my home, but I want to clarify that these are my children. Feelings can fade, and love can diminish, but it is better to separate peacefully than to engage in physical altercations.
“Couples with children should avoid airing their grievances online because their kids will eventually see and read about it.
“I am not a deadbeat father. Even though we are separated, I continue to support my children. They will tell you, ‘My dad is the best in the world.’”
It is worth noting that Nollywood actress Bukola Awoyemi, also known as Arugba, announced her separation from Olatunji in 2023, citing alleged infidelity as the reason for their split.
