Controversial Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikioka, known as Portable, recently criticized his senior colleague, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on social media. Portable accused Davido of not providing the promised verse for his new song.
According to Drivetvnews, Davido’s refusal to deliver the verse followed a dispute between the two in Atlanta. In June 2024, Portable alleged that Davido gave him poor advice during a dinner in Atlanta, which led to their falling out. Subsequently, Davido unfollowed Portable on Instagram.
Portable, on Sunday, used his official Instagram account to reveal that the song he released was supposed to feature a verse from Davido, which never materialized. He posted, “Na who help you be your helper; who promises you fit change mind. As @davido no gree give me verse on this song, I don kuku drop myself. Star. Don’t beg to shine. Who go help you no go stress you.”
In a related development, Nigerian singer Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, better known as Bella Shmurda, has voiced his hesitation about collaborating with Portable. According to Drivetvnews, Portable has been involved in several controversies since rising to fame with his hit song ‘ZaZu Zeh’ in 2021. His most recent issues include his public disputes with Davido and Zlatan Ibile.
While Portable has accused Davido of giving him poor advice and claimed that Zlatan Ibile damaged his relationship with Davido, Bella Shmurda expressed doubts about working with Portable. In a recent interview with Max FM, Shmurda mentioned that despite believing in potential good musical synergy, he is wary of collaborating with Portable due to concerns about potential conflicts.
