The family of the late Nigerian gospel singer Aduke Ajayi, popularly known as Aduke Gold, has publicly addressed the cause of her death. This statement follows widespread speculation sparked by a viral video that suggested her death was due to complications from fibroid surgery.

Aduke Gold’s unexpected passing led to varied reactions on social media, with fans and fellow industry members expressing their grief.

In response to the controversy surrounding her death, her brother, Pastor Ajayi Aderogbo, clarified in a video circulating on social media that Aduke Gold passed away at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan on Monday, August 12, 2024.

Pastor Aderogbo confirmed that the cause of death was cervical cancer and urged people to cease spreading unverified information. He stated, “Whoever is saying what is not should stop it. Our daughter was ill, she had cervical cancer, and she was taken to UCH in Ibadan where she unfortunately passed away. The information spreading around is false.”

He further urged, “Whoever is claiming she died from fibroid surgery should stop it. Our daughter was ill, and to the glory of God, she passed away on Monday, August 12. It is always best to obtain information from reliable sources.”
