Renowned musician Burna Boy has stirred excitement after a video surfaced showing him at Hot Box, a nightclub in Lagos, accompanied by socialite Yhemolee and others.
In the footage, the Grammy-winning artist is seen dancing enthusiastically to tracks such as “Higher” and “Tshwala Bam remix.” However, his behavior involving Nigerian currency has sparked some controversy.
The video reveals Burna Boy stepping on Naira notes, which contravenes Nigerian law. According to the Central Bank of Nigeria, it is illegal to spray, dance on, or step on Naira or any other banknotes during events. Violators can face a penalty of up to six months in jail, a fine of 50,000 Naira, or both.
The video has elicited mixed reactions. While some viewers criticize Burna Boy for perceived disrespect, others believe his actions were not harmful.
