Award-winning cinematographer and music producer ThankGod Omori, widely known as TG Omori, recently shared that he experienced a failed kidney transplant despite his brother’s donation to address his kidney-related condition.
On Wednesday, Omori opened up about his health challenges and asked Nigerians for prayers. He posted, “One year after my kidney failed, I just had a failed transplant at St Nicholas Hospital Lagos. Pray for me.” He also mentioned that he had undergone surgery three times and expressed his will to keep fighting.
Earlier, Omori had revealed that his brother donated a kidney to him to save his life. He wrote, “Yesterday, my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again. Keep my spirit alive. I don’t want to die.”
The music producer, who has been largely absent from the public eye, shared a poignant image of himself in tears on his hospital bed while receiving oxygen. He had previously hinted at his health issues through cryptic tweets.
Last month, Omori posted on X, “If I cross your mind, sometimes say a prayer for me. Poor marijuana, they blame you for all my rasclaat. You want to eat, I want to live.”
These updates have sparked concern among netizens, who have responded with messages of support and well-wishes. A user on X with the handle #MrEbony commented, “The biggest sacrifices are from families, especially brothers. Quick recovery bruh.” Another user, #IkoroduPresident, expressed willingness to donate a kidney if he had known and wished Omori a speedy recovery.
A user named #Honest30bgfan encouraged him with, “Stay strong, wishing you a speedy recovery. Nothing will happen to you in Jesus’ name.” Meanwhile, #Realtimmywrld remarked, “When they tell you to stop smoking, you guys won’t listen. Thank God for giving you a second chance.”
Winifred, another user on X, tweeted, “Such a sweet soul he is. Wishing you a quick healing.”
