The Edo State Police Command has announced the arrest of a 19-year-old self-styled native doctor in connection with the death of a client. The young man, who claims to specialize in crafting charms designed to protect against gunshots and cutlass wounds, caused the death of his client while attempting to demonstrate the charm’s effectiveness.
The incident occurred on August 20 in Onumu Community within the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. According to a statement from State Police Command spokesperson SP Moses Yamu, the deceased, Alex Ezekiel, had sought out the native doctor for a charm intended to protect him from bullets.
After preparing the charm, the native doctor attempted to test it by shooting Ezekiel. Unfortunately, the shot resulted in severe injuries, and Ezekiel was later pronounced dead at Ifejola Hospital in Igarra.
