Wunmi, the widow of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has paid a heartfelt tribute on social media to mark the first anniversary of his death. In her touching Instagram message, Wunmi shared how deeply she and their son, Liam, have felt the void left by Mohbad’s passing.

She reflected on their shared plans and prayed for his soul to find peace, asking God to forgive any of his shortcomings.

In her tribute, Wunmi wrote: “Ilerioluwa mi, Husband of my youth, my best friend! It has been a year today—a year since you left me and our Liam in this cold world. It has been incredibly difficult. I miss you so much, and Liam misses you too. I wish you were here to see him; you would have been a wonderful father.

“I still struggle to understand how I’ve managed without you. I wish you were here every single day, every moment. Your absence has brought me profound pain, but it has also been a time of growth. I’ve learned a lot, and I continue to learn. I will never come to terms with your absence; it disrupts my peace of mind.

“I keep hoping this is just a nightmare I’ll wake up from, but 366 days have passed and I still haven’t. My love, we had so many plans together, and you had so much more to offer the world. It pains me deeply that all our dreams and everything you worked so hard for are now lost with you.

“Liam and I are holding on to the strength and love you gave us. Every day, I see parts of you in him—your kindness, your smile, your spirit. I promise to raise him with the same love and care you would have given him, ensuring your memory lives on in every part of his life.

“Today, however, I choose to celebrate you. I choose to honor your legacy. I choose to give thanks to God for blessing me with you, Ilerioluwa. I choose to be grateful for the gift of Liam—our beauty amid the ashes.

“My love, I pray for your soul today. I ask God to forgive your shortcomings and welcome you to rest at His right hand. I hope your eternal rest is filled with joy. I love you so much. Thank you for Liam—I am forever grateful for him. Fly high with the angels, love of my life.”

Her emotional tribute resonated with many fans and followers, who left supportive comments as they remembered Mohbad on this somber occasion.
