The Presidency announced on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu is planning to reorganize his cabinet. Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, shared this update during a press briefing at the State House in Abuja.
Onanuga indicated that while the reshuffle is expected, the exact timing remains unclear. He suggested that it could happen before October 1st but emphasized that no specific date has been confirmed.
He said, “The President has expressed his intention to reorganize the cabinet, and this will happen. Whether it will occur before October 1st is uncertain, but it is something he will definitely do. However, there is no set timeline at the moment.”
Commenting on the administration’s progress, Onanuga mentioned that during a recent Federal Executive Council meeting, President Tinubu urged ministers to actively communicate the achievements of the government.
He noted that some ministers have been hesitant to engage with the media, but the President encouraged them to speak more openly about the work they’ve been doing.
“There’s a perception that the government is not doing enough, but much has been accomplished. It’s important for the ministers to step forward and highlight the progress made in their respective ministries,” Onanuga added.
