A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning in Lekki, resulting in the death of a 48-year-old man named Okafor, who was allegedly stabbed by a woman he had invited to his residence at Jakande Housing Estate, Lagos State. The incident reportedly took place at around 5:32 a.m.
According to police information, a friend of the victim received a call from another person who alerted him to the assault.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police spokesperson, confirmed the event, stating, “The suspect, identified as Joy Kelvin, is accused of stabbing Okafor during their time together overnight.”
“After the incident, the victim was rushed to the General Hospital in Marina, Lagos, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival,” he added.
Hundeyin also detailed the police response, explaining that detectives from the Ilasan Division arrived at the scene around 7:20 a.m. after being informed, conducted preliminary investigations, and took photographs. The body was then transported to the General Hospital Morgue in Yaba for preservation and autopsy.
The suspect, Joy Kelvin, is now in police custody, and authorities are working to notify the victim’s family. An in-depth investigation is underway to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
