Nigerian singer Primeboy, whose real name is Owodunni Ibrahim, is taking the Nigerian Police Force to court. The police had declared him wanted in 2023 for failing to respond to an invitation related to fellow singer Mohbad’s death investigation.
Primeboy’s lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, says his client seeks removal from the wanted list and restoration of his dignity. The suit, filed at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, claims the police declaration violated Primeboy’s human rights.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, at 27, sparking controversy. Primeboy surrendered to the police within 24 hours of being declared wanted.
