The newly appointed Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has declared the removal of the 18-year minimum age requirement for entry into higher education institutions across the country. He also indicated that his administration might consider revising the national education policy.
Nonetheless, the Minister affirmed that the federal government will maintain its stance on invalidating over 22,700 degree certificates acquired by Nigerians from certain unaccredited universities in nearby countries, including Togo and the Republic of Benin.
Alausa made these remarks on Wednesday during his inaugural press briefing in Abuja, which is currently in progress.
