Nigerian artist Portable has issued a bold challenge to activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), daring him to a wrestling match over accusations of mismanaging funds meant for an NGO.
This controversy stems from VDM’s recent claim that hackers stole ₦180 million from his NGO’s website, leaving only ₦20 million untouched. Portable, known for his outspoken nature, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his outrage. Wielding a wrestling belt in a video, he branded VDM a “thief” and demanded accountability.
In the video, Portable publicly challenged VDM, saying:
“If you don’t return the stolen NGO money, don’t set foot in Lagos or Abuja. We’ll face you. A thief is a thief, and anyone supporting a thief is also a thief. Rich men donated about ₦180 million for orphans, and you misused it!”
He further accused VDM of squandering the funds, stating:
“You claim to be fighting for Nigerians, but it’s for your own benefit. I’ve never received ₦100 million, yet I still provide food, repair roads, and install streetlights in my area. Meanwhile, you spent the NGO funds in clubs. That’s unacceptable!”
Portable’s fiery statements have sparked a wave of reactions online, with many users flooding the comment section to weigh in on the escalating dispute.
This confrontation follows VDM’s announcement of the alleged hack, and Portable’s accusations have intensified the already tense situation.
