A wedding celebration in Jigawa State turned into a tragedy when it was reported that the bride poisoned the food at her reception.
The incident, which took place in the Jahun Local Government Area, left the groom in critical condition and resulted in the death of one guest. Eyewitnesses told Drivetvnews that the bride’s actions might have been fueled by a personal conflict.
On Friday, Shi’isu Adam, the Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the event, stating, “We received a report that the bride had poisoned the food at the wedding reception, leaving the groom seriously ill.”
Adam further revealed that two individuals, the bride and another woman, have been arrested in connection with the poisoning. “Two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the alleged food poisoning incident at the wedding,” he added.
The Criminal Investigation Department is currently questioning the suspects as the police continue to investigate the full details of the case.
