The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed that God warned him about an increase in mockery in 2025, with many of the mockers not surviving the year.
In a widely circulated video of his sermon during the first Holy Ghost Night service of 2025, Pastor Adeboye addressed an AI-generated meme that depicted him as a Muslim pilgrim. He stated that God informed him mockers would escalate their ridicule this year but noted that some would not live to see the end of it.
“Many of you must have seen the AI-generated picture of me dressed as an Alhaji circulating online. How many of you saw it?” Pastor Adeboye asked the congregation, smiling.
He continued, “The Lord said, ‘This year, mockers will become louder and more aggressive than ever before. However, sadly, many of them will not survive the year.’” The congregation responded with a unified “Amen.”
Pastor Adeboye clarified, “I added ‘sadly’ because God does not desire the death of sinners. However, some have chosen not to repent.”
This statement followed the viral circulation of an AI-generated image portraying Pastor Adeboye as a Muslim on pilgrimage in Mecca. The image gained attention toward the end of 2024 and coincided with a contentious debate sparked by a banner displayed at a mosque in the Lekki area of Lagos. The banner proclaimed that Jesus was a prophet and not the Son of God, contradicting Christian beliefs.
