Dr. Moses Korede Are, a renowned gospel filmmaker and president of Calvary Drama Ministry, fondly known as Baba Gbenro, has been laid to rest.
According to reports from Gospel Film News correspondents present at the burial, his final rites took place on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Orita Aje, Iresa-Apa, Ogbomosho, Oyo State. This followed a funeral service held at House to House Prayer Ministries, Inc., Ogbomosho, Oyo State.
A Christian wake-keep was conducted on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in his honor. Dr. Moses Korede Are passed away at the age of 59.
During the funeral service, Pastor John Ojo delivered a sermon titled “A Blessed Person or a Cursed Person; Choose Where You Want to Belong.” He emphasized that not everyone experiences the death of the righteous and reminded the congregation that death is inevitable. He described death as a passage from this world to eternity and urged everyone to be spiritually prepared, as it can come without warning.
The pastor also praised the late filmmaker for understanding and fulfilling his divine calling, urging attendees to reflect on their own lives and choices, as these determine one’s final destination.
Several drama ministers were in attendance, including Joseph Yemi Adepoju, Shola Mike Agboola, Adegbayike Agboola, Yemi and Feyi Adepoju, Kolade and Sunmbo Segun-Okeowo, Isaac Femi-Akintunde, Adeoye Omoniyi, Kayode Babalola, Tolu Adegbo, Seun Adejumobi, Femi Adebile, Paul Esu-Pofo, Bunmi Bamitale, Rotimi Amodu, Seyi Pedro-Adetola, Ayobami and Adebimpe Adegboyega, among others.
Dr. Moses Korede Are faithfully served as the president of Calvary Drama Ministry until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, children,and siblings.
