Gunmen have kidnapped Dr. Adekunle Raif Adeniji, a senior official at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja.

Dr. Adeniji, who holds the position of Director of Administration at the party’s headquarters, was abducted two weeks ago in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Sources reveal that the kidnappers have reached out to his family, demanding a ransom of N350 million for his release. However, neither the APC National Secretariat nor law enforcement agencies have issued an official statement regarding the incident. Individuals with knowledge of the situation have confirmed that he remains in captivity.

Dr. Adeniji assumed the role of Director of Administration in August 2024, following the resignation of his predecessor, Prof. Alaba Adediwura. His appointment was formally announced in an official letter from the party’s National Secretary.

In a separate incident, retired Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was also kidnapped. Reports indicate that his captors have demanded N250 million for his release.

General Tsiga was taken last Wednesday night when armed attackers stormed his home in Katsina State.
