The Katsina State Hisbah Board has officially banned nightclub activities across the state, citing the need to uphold moral values and address security concerns.
In a statement released in Katsina on Wednesday, Hisbah Commander-General Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar) announced that nightclub owners must shut down their establishments to curb immoral behavior, protect societal values, and enhance security, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
The board has warned that those who violate the directive will face strict consequences. Additionally, security agencies have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the order.
“Our priority is to foster a morally upright society while maintaining peace and security in Katsina State,” Usman stated.
He further confirmed that relevant security agencies, including the state Commissioner for Internal Security, have been notified to enforce the directive effectively.
“This decision aligns with Hisbah’s broader mission of ensuring that residents live in accordance with religious and moral principles,” he added.
