Controversial Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, is currently in the custody of the Ogun State Police Command.

The spokesperson for the Ogun Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this development in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Earlier reports by Drivetvnews indicated that Portable had voluntarily surrendered himself to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lagos State.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, also verified the situation, stating that the singer was being transferred to the Ogun State Command.

Providing an update, Odutola confirmed Portable’s arrival at the Ogun Command of the Nigeria Police Force. She assured the public that the investigation would follow due process and that further updates would be provided as necessary.

“The Ogun State Police Command informs the public that Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, arrived at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, at precisely 13:23 hours today, February 19, 2025,” Odutola stated.

She further explained that his presence at the SCID is part of an ongoing investigation and reassured the public that proper legal procedures would be followed.

Portable had previously been declared wanted due to an alleged violent altercation with officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

Drivetvnews Report indicate that the incident took place in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, Ogun State, when Portable allegedly confronted three town planning officials—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—who were carrying out an enforcement exercise.
