Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has ordered the immediate deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to secure the safe release of Afenifere Youth Leader, Prince Eniola Ojajuni. Ojajuni was abducted on February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja.
In a statement on Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to ensuring Ojajuni’s safe return. He emphasized that all available resources and expertise would be utilized for the operation.
“The Inspector-General of Police commends the swift action and dedication of officers working to protect citizens. In line with this, he has instructed the immediate deployment of the FID Intelligence Response Team to focus on the safe rescue of Prince Eniola Ojajuni,” Adejobi stated.
He also urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information about the situation, warning that speculation on social media could interfere with rescue efforts and put Ojajuni at risk.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to dismantling criminal networks and enhancing security across communities,” he added.
Highlighting recent police operations, Adejobi reported that officers in Taraba State raided a suspected criminal hideout at Wamunchi dry-season rice farms on February 26, 2025. The operation led to the arrest of 20 suspects and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, seven rounds of live ammunition, a motorcycle, three Dane guns, and a bow and arrow.
In Oyo State, a coordinated effort by tactical teams and local security forces successfully rescued three individuals abducted from the palace of Baale Tajudeen Inaolaji on February 24, 2025. One of the kidnappers was also apprehended.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting citizens and bringing criminals to justice.
