Anambra-based cleric Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has announced his intention to contest Nigeria’s presidency in 2027. He emphasized the need for young, tech-savvy leaders instead of aging politicians who, in his view, have failed to drive the nation forward.
Odumeje made this declaration during a sermon on Sunday, a moment that was captured in a video now trending on social media. However, he did not specify the political party under which he plans to run.
Expressing his concerns about Nigeria’s leadership, he stated, “Both past and present leaders have been unable to bring real progress due to their age and lack of vision. The nation requires a dynamic, resilient, and forward-thinking leader like me.”
He further added, “Nigeria needs a young, digital-minded leader—not outdated politicians. I am seriously considering stepping forward for this role. Are you hearing me? I think I will contest for the presidency.”
Known for his energetic and unconventional preaching style, Odumeje engaged his congregation, asking if they were prepared for his leadership. He promised to bring modernization and a digital transformation to the country.
“Are you ready for me? Odumeje for president? Because I understand what you need. I want to build a major road called Citadel for you. I want to introduce a modern, digital way of life,” he declared.
While his announcement has excited many of his followers, it has also sparked widespread discussion and debate across social media platforms.
